--> National Games mascot Ammu, the Great Hornbill, has immortalised itself by finding a mention in the Limca Book of Records.
--> The mascot found a place in the record books owing to a play, Kalikkunna Kuttikalkkayi Bharatham Kathirikkunnu (India Awaits Children Who Play) in which Ammu is featured.
--> According to the Limca Book’s 2015 Special Literature Edition, it is a play about a mascot which had been staged in most number of schools.

3) Facebook launched Internet.org in India to give free connectivity:
--> Facebook on 10 February 2015 announced a tie-up with Reliance Communications to launch Internet.org in India, that will allow users access to basic mobile internet services.
--> India now becomes the sixth destination for Internet.org, a Facebook-led initiative envisaged about a year-and-a-half back with six other founding partners, including Samsung and Qualcomm.
--> The service has already been launched in Zambia, Tanzania, Kenya, Colombia and Ghana.
--> For the time being, the service has gone live in Maharashtra, Gujarat, Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, and Kerala. The pan-India launch is planned in three months.

--> ICICI Bank on 10 February 2015 launched 'Pockets', a digital banking service, enabling users to instantly send money to any e-mail id, mobile number, friends on Facebook and bank account.
--> Anyone, including those who are not customers of ICICI Bank, can easily download the e-wallet from Google Playstore, fund it from any bank account in the country and start transacting immediately, ICICI Bank said in a statement.
--> This wallet uses a virtual Visa card, which enables the users to transact on any website or mobile application in India.
--> The limit for transaction is of worth Rs.10,000, if it is not linked to a savings account of ICICI Bank.

--> Services got their first gold medal as G. Lakshmanan clocked a personal best 13:50.05 to win the men’s 5000m race. His time also bettered the previous Games Record of 14:11.99 held in the name of Soji Mathew since the Ranchi edition four years ago.

--> Shankar has been entrusted the additional charge with immediate effect, PNB said in a statement.
--> The post of full time Managing Director and CEO has been vacant since November, when the then Chairman and Managing Director K R Kamath failed to get extension from the government.
5) Adani Enterprises to set up country's largest 10000 MW solar plant in Rajasthan:
--> Adani Enterprises on 9 February 2015 signed a pact with the Rajasthan government to develop the country's largest solar park in the state with 10,000 MW capacity over the next 10 years at an estimated investment of about Rs 40,000 crore.
--> The company will set up solar power project of 5000 MW on its own in the next five years.
6) India's Ricky Kej, Neela Vaswani won Grammy Awards:
--> Musician Ricky Kej and activist Neela Vaswani won at the 57th Grammy awards for their work in album 'Winds of Samsara' and the documentary on Malala Yousafzai, respectively.
--> Kej was declared a winner for his collaborative album 'Winds of Samsara' in the New Age Album category. The Bengluru-based artiste teamed up with South African flautist Wouter Kellerman on the album.

--> Cold Storage Plant is an indispensable facility in silkworm egg production system, principally to enable uninterrupted supply of basic and commercial silkworm seed.

--> Singapore President Tony Tan Keng Yam has begun a four-day state visit to India recently, as the two countries mark 50 years of the establishment of diplomatic relations.
--> "This is President Tan's first state visit to India, and will showcase our longstanding and strong relations with India as we commemorate the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between India and Singapore in 2015," the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said.
